04.14.2024 | 06:23 AM | BLAINE COUNTY - San Andreas Highway Patrol officers located a suspicious vehicle at a gas station at the entrance to Paleto Bay, while attempting to conduct a traffic stop from the vehicles, an unknown person opened fire on the officers and the suspicious vehicle then fled the scene. During a lengthy police search, the vehicle was recovered. Upon initiating a second contact, the suspect opened fire on the officers and began to flee before being taken into custody by SAHP and local Sheriff's Office deputies. The two suspects were killed by officers during the armed standoff. One of the suspects was taken into custody and transported to the local sheriff's office. During the entire incident, 4 highway patrol officers were injured and taken to hospitals, their lives are not in danger at this time. Involved agencies: SAHP, LSSD, LSCoFD.
